Mexican pad maker Marves Industries opens plant in U.S.

Marves Industries, a Mexican manufacturer of nonwovens and insulator pads for mattresses and furniture, is opening a manufacturing plant in Hildebran, N.C.

According to a news release issued by the state, North Carolina will invest $1.75 million in the new facility, which is expected to bring 66 manufacturing jobs to Burke County. Marves will operate out of a former Bauer Industries facility, an acoustic padding company that abruptly ceased operation in February 2009.

The Uruapan, Michoacán–based Marves says its new plant will be well–positioned to supply mattress makers in the eastern half of the United States.

“The availability of the building, equipment and trained labor in Hildebran weighed heavily in the decision,” said Elias Gomez, Marves general manager.
