Sleep Train holds clothing, school supplies drives for foster children

Sleep Train Foster Kids logoSacramento, Calif.-based retailer Sleep Train reported that its annual clothing drive for foster children brought in more than 26,000 articles of clothing, double that of the 2011 drive.

Currently, the retailer is collecting school supplies through Sept. 9 for foster kids. Most-needed items include backpacks, pens, pencils, paper, notebooks and flash drives. Contributions can be dropped off at any Sleep Train store. Monetary donations are being accepted online and will be put toward school supplies purchases.

Sleep Train distributes the clothing and supplies it collects to California’s foster children via a network of 24 nonprofit foster care organizations in the state.
