Baton Rouge, La.-based retailer Mattress Direct and Chicago-based protection supplier Protect-A-Bed donated $4,000 to Homes for Our Troops, a nonprofit whose mission is to build accessible housing for disabled veterans.
The donation followed a two-week contest on Facebook where fans were encouraged to show support for veterans with posts and pictures.
“We were proud to join forces with Mattress Direct on such a great initiative,” said Clive Goldin, Protect-A-Bed president. “This money helps the families of those brave men and women who have sacrificed to protect our country. We were very pleased with the outpouring of support.”
