The Green Bay, Wis.-based football team is familiar with Verlo mattresses, as players sleep on them each year while attending training camp at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis.
“We are very proud to be affiliated with the Green Bay Packers,” Verlo
President Tom Cass said. “There is a direct correlation between getting enough sleep and being able to perform at your peak. This is especially true for professional athletes whose muscles take a daily beating.”
The all-foam beds have layers of gel foam and memory foam and are covered in gold fabric designed to look like a big block of cheese—and inspired by the Cheesehead foam hats worn by fans.
“As the official mattress of the Green Bay Packers, we felt it would be fun to show our team spirit and create a mattress that is bound to bring a smile to Packers fans, as well as a good night’s sleep,” said Scott Baitinger, Verlo chief marketing officer.
Verlo offers ongoing “celebratory pricing” on the new line. When the Packers win, fans receive a $200 discount on their mattress purchase for 24 hours following the game.
The new bed was developed in partnership with Foamation Inc., the official supplier of Cheesehead products based in St. Francis, Wis., and LeRoy Butler, a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.
