Simmons donates beds to Covenant House

Atlanta-based Simmons Bedding Co. donated 50 Comforpedic from Beautyrest mattresses to Covenant House Georgia, a shelter for homeless and runaway youth.

“We are proud to assist Covenant House in its mission and hope our mattresses help the affected young people to recharge and recover,” said Anne Kozel, Simmons brand director of specialty products.

The mattresses will be used in a new crisis shelter designed to help young adults in need of housing and crisis intervention for as many as 60 days. Additional mattresses will go to the shelter’s on-site independent living program, Rights of Passage, which young adults are eligible to enter after leaving the crisis shelter. There they learn life skills that help them transition to living on their own.
