Happy to escape the “snowquester” that blanketed much of the country, more than 200 mattress industry leaders representing manufacturers, retailers and suppliers gathered in sunny Orlando, Fla., for the 2013 ISPA Industry Conference March 6-7.
The conference offered attendees timely, relevant educational sessions aimed at improving their businesses and boosting sales. Topics included marketing to the “rationally irrational,” the importance of search engine optimization and social media, updates on mattress recycling legislation, ways to increase creativity in the workplace and how to market to Generation Y, the newest generation of consumers.
A key part of every ISPA event is networking. The conference kicked off with an afternoon golf tournament and each night included parties and receptions.
The host property, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, offered gracious accommodations. And, given its location on the Walt Disney World campus, the entire event was overseen by Fairy Godmother Ivana, who was sent to ensure that all went well.
