AEC promotions realign reporting structure

AEC Narrow Fabrics, a supplier of mattress tape with headquarters in Asheboro, N.C., has promoted three people at its facilities in the United States and Central America.

Rick Adelman was named director of Central America manufacturing, a new position. He is responsible for El Salvador and Honduras manufacturing, research and development operations, and oversight of key people at the company’s Central American facilities.

Rodney Smith was promoted to director of United States manufacturing. Previously, he was plant manager for weaving and finishing. He is responsible for manufacturing operations and oversight of key people in manufacturing, engineering and corporate quality.

Lonnie (“J.R.”) Hanks was promoted to plant manager for the company’s Asheboro weaving plant. He reports to Smith.

“Aligning AEC’s manufacturing operations geographically under Rodney and Rick’s leadership strengthens the teams in Asheboro and in Central America,” said Bob Lawson, president. “The collaboration between these two teams enables AEC to be even more responsive when customers need custom narrow fabrics and special dyeing/finishing techniques.”
