Gold Bond sharpens focus on independent retailers

It was the family-owned mattress maker’s first appearance at the show in several years and is part of a new plan to sharpen its marketing focus on independent retailers, a Gold Bond news release said.

“We view regional trade shows as a strategic tool to grow our business,” said Gold Bond President Bob Naboicheck. “Since we cater to independent retailers, we need a strong presence at the smaller trade shows because that is where our customers are. Unlike the Vegas market, where many of the top national chains look for product, the regional shows are where our main customer base goes to see new products. “These shows are also great for new business, as other manufacturers have moved away from supplying many of the smaller retailers who frequent these events.”

The company said its main market focus is High Point, but it will continue to seek out opportunities at regional shows in the eastern half of the United States.
