Finishing touches Bekaert Textiles USA added sewn covers to its offerings with the purchase of Progressive Products Inc.

Ticking and sewn cover supplier Bekaert Textiles USA Inc., headquartered in Winston-Salem, N.C., with world headquarters in Waregem, Belgium, has streamlined its design and production processes for sewn covers, subsequent to the company’s 2012 purchase of Progressive Products Inc., a Riverside, Calif.-based sewn cover producer.

In addition to PPI’s manufacturing facilities in Riverside and in Tijuana, Mexico, Bekaert has built out a Rapid Prototype Center at its North Carolina campus. The new N.C.-based sewn-cover team includes a dedicated project manager and prototype engineering staff.

In addition, according to the company, the Bekaert design department has been expanded to include a dedicated specialty-cover designer who works alongside the ticking design team “in a collaborative, studio environment.”

Stefan Hoffman, Bekaert Textiles USA vice president of sales and marketing, commented, “The merger provides our customers with a single source, all-inclusive cover and design package that saves them time, money, and resources.”
