L&P planning more all-American fun and games at High Point Market

Big win Rhonda Stacy of Stacy Furniture in Dallas, winner of an autographed-football sweepstakes at Las Vegas Market, holds her prize with the help of 43-year L&P Consumer Products Group sales veteran Roger Phillips.

Leggett & Platt Consumer Products Group, based in Carthage, Mo., will hold an “All-American Free Throw Game and Sweepstakes” in its showroom (IHFC C-1165) at High Point Market April 5-10. The event follows in the steps of the Super Bowl-inspired football toss and sweepstakes at the winter Las Vegas Market.

The showroom games are meant to celebrate “American ingenuity,” the company said. Many of L&P’s new products are “designed, assembled or manufactured in the United States, including the Premier Series adjustable bed bases, Leggett & Platt Clean Shield and Brisa PhaseChange pillows and upholstered beds and headboards.

Sweepstakes entrants at the High Point show will have the chance to win one of three basketballs signed by some of college basketball’s most successful coaches—John Calipari, Mike Krzyzewski and Rick Pitino. Participants have the chance to win a number of prices, including iPad Minis and Ruth’s Chris Steak House $100 gift cards.

“The Vegas football toss game and sweepstakes were a crowd pleaser,” said Herman Tam, L&P Consumer Products Group group vice president of marketing. “We thought we would do something similar with basketball during the weekend when all eyes will be on the Final Four, which happens to coincide with the Spring 2014 High Point Market! We enjoy offering our customer-partners innovative products and services, and being able to give away prizes that exemplify American ingenuity is just an added bonus.”
