Machinery supplier Edgewater Machine Co. Inc. has named Kelly Schlegel as vice president. Schlegel is the granddaughter of Edgewater founder Kurt Schlegel and daughter of current owner and President Roy Schlegel. The company manufactures quilting machinery and custom-built equipment and is based in College Point, New York.

Schlegel earned a bachelor’s degree in international business management with a minor in Latin American studies from Pace University. She graduated cum laude with a number of other honors and awards in December 2012. While a student, she pursued a wide range of career- and character-building activities, earned merit scholarships and was vice president of administration and then president of the Lubin Business Association, an honor society that is part of the Lubin School of Business at Pace.

These experiences, her past work with Edgewater, as well as her participation at four consecutive ISPA EXPO’s on behalf of the company, leave Schlegel well-prepared to make a significant contribution at Edgewater, a news release said.
