ISPA predicts conservative growth for U.S. mattress industry

ISPA 2014 mattress industry forecast U.S. mattress industry financialsThe International Sleep Products Association, a trade group representing mattress manufacturers and industry component suppliers based in Alexandria, Va., has released its first 2014 forecast for the U.S. mattress industry, covering the period through December 2015. The Mattress Industry Forecast (paid content for non-ISPA members) is available for download at the ISPA website.

Based in part on an economic analysis prepared by the University of Michigan and input from the committee, the consensus is that both the quantity and value of U.S. mattress shipments will continue moderate unit and value growth in 2014 and 2015.

In 2014, the forecast shows a 2.5% increase in the value of mattress shipments and a 2% increase in units shipped. During 2015, the forecast predicts a 5.5% increase in the value of mattress shipments and 4% increase in units shipped.

The forecast also contains economic and market analyses provided by Jerry Epperson of Mann, Armistead & Epperson Ltd. and Ashraf Abdul Mohsen of Association Research Inc.
