Select Comfort adds Callen and Dirks to senior management team

Select Comfort Corp., manufacturer and retailer of the Sleep Number bed, has appointed David Callen as senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Patricia (Tricia) Dirks as senior vice president and chief human capital officer.

Callen has responsibility for advancing the Minneapolis-based company’s financial growth plan and leading the finance team.

Dirks will “continue to evolve the company’s culture of innovation and individualization and be responsible for all human capital functions,” a news release stated.

“David, an experienced finance leader in a vertically integrated branded consumer product company, Ethan Allen Interiors Inc., and Tricia, an accomplished retail and human resources leader from Target Corp., will advance our strategic direction,” said Shelly Ibach, Select Comfort president and chief executive officer. “They are strong business partners whose expertise complements our customer-focused culture and strategy.”

At Ethan Allen Interiors, Callen served as principal financial officer. Prior to that, he was vice president of global finance at Phototronics Inc. and corporate controller at Johnson Outdoors Inc. He earned his CPA while working at public accounting firm BDO Seidman.

Before joining Select Comfort, Dirks was senior vice president of organizational effectiveness with Target Corp. Prior to that, she was senior vice president of human resources at the former Marshall Field & Co. She also serves on the board of the Minnesota Zoo Foundation.
