Industry supplier AEC Narrow Fabrics has named Charles Adams as president. He replaces Bob Lawson who has left the Asheboro, North Carolina-based narrow fabric producer.

Adams will position the company for strategic growth in existing and new markets, a news release said.

A veteran of the fiber and textile industries, Adams’ management experience encompasses business development, sales and marketing, design and manufacturing, quality control and operations for a range of global companies that supply the commercial, residential, apparel, automotive and industrial segments. Previously, he was chief executive officer of Polyester Fibers LLC and, prior to that, vice president and general manager of Milliken & Co.

In more than two decades with Milliken, Adams worked in many functional areas and is credited with building significant new business for the the commercial fabrics division.

“Charles Adams has the vision to see where AEC has opportunities to expand within the markets we currently address and manufacture products for new markets,” said Larry Himes, AEC chief executive officer. “His understanding of what it takes to provide the innovative fabrics and services customers seek will strengthen AEC’s business development. And his experiences with creating fabrics for so many different products augments AEC’s ability to supply expanded markets.”

Commenting on his new post, Adams said, “AEC has a great history and reputation within the narrow fabrics sector. I look forward to collaborating with their team and developing the products and services that will position AEC on a trajectory for sustainable and significant growth.”
