Mattress manufacturer Paramount Sleep, with headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, has inked a licensing arrangement with regional producer Sound Sleep Products Inc., based in Sumner, Washington. Sound Sleep is licensed to manufacture and sell Paramount bed brands, including Back Performance, HD Super Duty and Nature’s Spa, as well as the luxury A.H. Beard brand for which Paramount holds exclusive U.S. rights.
“Sound Sleep is a strong vertical supplier in the Pacific Northwest known for their innovation in the marketplace,” said Jamie Diamonstein, Paramount Sleep managing director. “With the consolidation of the bedding market, it creates a good opportunity for our companies to develop a strategic alliance.”
The deal is Paramount’s fifth licensing arrangement. Other licensees are Biscayne Bedding, Cannon Sleep Products, Dreamline Bedding and Omaha Bedding.
Sound Sleep is the former Case Littell Furniture Co., which was purchased in 1994 by current owner and President John Larsen. He operates two vertically integrated mattress factories in the Pacific Northwest that manufacture mattresses and foundations, as well as fabricate foam and form wire for innersprings.
Commenting on the deal, Larsen said, “The Paramount alliance offers us a unique opportunity to continue our growth and expand our customer base to retailers we do not currently serve. This partnership will allow us to continue our quest of offering quality products delivered on time to an even larger audience.”
