Ashley Furniture HomeStore gives mattresses to needy children

Participating Ashley Furniture HomeStores donated more than 1,000 mattress sets and comforters to needy children in October and November. The donations were part of the Tampa, Florida-based retailer’s A Hope to Dream program, which provides beds to children in need across the United States. Children can be referred to the program via the Ashley website.

The donation coincides with the United Nations’ annual Universal Children’s Day Nov. 20, which brings attention and assistance to children around the world living in poverty.

Ashley HomeStores donated more 4,000 mattresses to children in 2014. A portion of the proceeds for every mattress purchased at a participating store helps pay for a new bed. To date, more than 300 participating stores have provided 13,000 beds to underprivileged children.
