The Polyurethane Foam Association, headquartered in Loudon, Tenn., elected Bill Gollnitz, technical director of Plastomer Corp., as president of the group and named other officers for 2015 during a general business meeting in November.

Gollnitz replaces Joe Progar of Innocor Inc., who moves into the past-president role.

“Gollnitz is a scientist with a strong management background who has worked in the foam industry for more than four decades,” said Robert Luedeka, PFA executive director. “He has a deep understanding of how chemistry, manufacturing and suppliers can work together to advance the flexible polyurethane foam industry. We look forward to his leadership, which will benefit PFA and all of its members.”

He has spent 20 years with Plastomer, whose founder Walter Baughman was a PFA founding member and hall of fame member. Gollnitz’s background also includes stints with Arco Chemical, Olin Corp. and Firestone Foam.

Other newly elected officers include First Vice President Nadia Stern of Innocor, Second Vice President Chip Holton of NCFI Polyurethanes, Secretary Hamdy Khalil of Woodbridge Group and Treasurer Bobby Bush of HSM Solutions.

The PFA’s mission is to educate customers and other groups about flexible polyurethane foam and to promote its use in manufactured and industrial products.
