Manufacturer Paramount Sleep has entered into a joint venture with Hypnos that makes Norfolk, Virginia-based Paramount the sole U.S. licensee of the ultra-premium U.K. bed brand. Paramount is the first to manufacture Hypnos products in the United States according to British standards, a news release said.
Paramount plans to preview 10 Hypnos beds at the Las Vegas Market in January to gain retailer reaction to the program. A formal line launch will take place in the spring.
“We are honored to be entrusted with Hypnos’ international reputation as true luxury bedding experts in making handcrafted, deep-pocket-spring beds,” said Richard Fleck, Paramount president. “We are obligated to protect the Hypnos brand architecture set forth in Europe as we manufacture bespoke mattresses here in the United States.”
Buckinghamshire-based Hypnos is a 100-year-old, family-run company that holds a royal warrant from Queen Elizabeth II for bedding and upholstery manufacturing, and has been a long-time supplier of bedding to the queen and members of the royal family.
