Soft-Tex—Now in its own showroom, specialty sleep manufacturer Soft-Tex launched new DreamSmart mattresses and sleep accessories. The eight-bed group ($199 to $1,099) ships compressed, rolled and packed in an attractive, wheeled box. The top bed is 14 inches thick with microcoils, latex and gel memory foam. DreamSmart’s packaging is part of “an emerging category, that has its place not just with Internet retailers, but on retail floors,” said Michael Tinsmon, mattress sales manager for the Waterford, New York-based company. “Traditional retailers shouldn’t be afraid of this model—they should embrace it.”

SealyIn a new Sealy showroom, Lexington, Kentucky-based Tempur Sealy rolled out the reborn Posturepedic. The brand celebrates its 65th anniversary this year. In the open, brightly lit space, 38 Posturepedic models ($599 to $1,999) were “power-packed” with features focused on center-core support and a superior seat edge. They wore a modern look with unquilted panels, charcoal borders, and color-coded labels and point-of-purchase materials identifying three separate collections. For the first time, all beds in the line have Sealy Embrace wrapped coils. The Posturepedic Hybrid (pictured) has the brand’s signature half-foam, half-springs construction.

Stearns & Foster—On display in a solo showroom, the handsome five-bed Stearns & Foster Estate Limited Edition collection ($1,799 to $1,999) from Lexington, Kentucky-based Tempur Sealy had an elegant, monogrammed fabric with vertical quilting on the foundation, paired with smooth and sleek, contemporary mattress borders. The display space featured a wood-paneled library look that set off the collection’s cocoa borders and cream panels. High-end mattress components included New Zealand wool and Dunlop-process latex.

Tempur-Pedic, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, made headlines with the launch of Tempur-Flex, a three-bed group with “more spring,” thanks to the presence of microcoils in the comfort layer. Described as the “Dynamic Support Layer,” microcoils are paired with a “faster-responding version” of the company’s proprietary memory foam formulation. Tempur-Flex sales were “on fire” at the show, said Mike Sileck, Tempur-Pedic brand manager. The beds retail from $2,299 to $3,499.

Zedbed launched the specialty Essential collection scented with natural lavender water, which the vertically integrated manufacturer adds during the foam-pouring process. The scent is both a sleep aid and a natural dust-mite repellent, the Shawinigan, Quebec-based company said. The three-bed program, with angled, lavender-colored borders, is priced from $1,599 to $2,099 and features varying amounts of responsive, lavender-scented ZX foam in the top layer.
