Mattress major Tempur Sealy International Inc., with headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, has selected food service and hospitality executive Jon Luther to serve on its board of directors, the nominating and corporate governance committee, as well as the recently formed chief executive officer search committee. The latter is tasked with finding a replacement for CEO Mark Sarvary who stepped down following a shareholder vote to remove him amid pressure from activist investor H Partners Management.
Luther is a current member of the board of directors of Six Flags Entertainment Corp. and Brinker International Inc., and is chairman of the board of Arby’s Restaurant Group. From 2003 to 2009, he was chief executive officer of Dunkin’ Brands and chairman from 2006 to 2009. He retired from Dunkin’ brands in 2013 as non-executive chairman. Prior to that, Luther served as president of Popeyes, a division of AFC Enterprises. He also has held top posts with CA One Services, a subsidiary of Delaware North Companies Inc.; and Benchmark Services Inc., a food services company he founded. Earlier in his career, Luther held various leadership positions at hospitality companies.
