Mattress components supplier Jomel Industries Inc., with headquarters in Hillside, New Jersey, announced that Lila Walker has joined the company and is now a principal of its sewn cover business Jomel Seams Reasonable. She shares ownership with co-founders Phil Iuliano, Jomel president, and Jeff Spitz, Jomel vice president.

Walker plays an active role at Jomel Seams Reasonable and has taken responsibility for new business development and operations.

Her background includes extensive mattress-industry operations, sales and design experience, and she has worked with a number of top mattress brands, as well as regional manufacturers. Before joining Jomel, she was national sales manager with Progressive Products Inc., a sewn cover supplier owned by Bekaert Textiles. Prior to that, she was president and chief operating officer of infant bedding company Nook Sleep Systems LLC.

“We are ecstatic to have Lila Walker join our team,” Iuliano said. “She brings great industry experience, talent and passion. We make a great team.”

Jomel was founded in 1993 and employs more than 100 at three U.S. manufacturing facilities in Hillside, New Jersey; Burkesville, Kentucky; and Trinity, North Carolina. It supplies a wide range of components to mattress makers; its cut-and-sew company Jomel Seams Reasonable specializes in smooth-top and quilted zippered cover programs, pillows and point-of-sale soft goods.
