The nonprofit, headquartered in Seattle, delivered 26 beds to an orphanage in Kampala, Uganda, where it’s based.

Anita Gray, executive director of VFSD USA, transported the beds to Uganda in an artificial Christmas tree bag and gave them to the orphanage on Jan. 19.

The children there previously had been sleeping on dirt floors, according to the news release. Relief Bed International, founded by bedding industry veteran Scott Smalling in 2015, has given out more than 600 beds thus far. It has a goal of donating 10,000 beds this year.
