Protect-A-Bed Chooses John Rachid as President

Protect-A-Bed, a Chicago-based supplier of sleep accessories, protection products and mattresses has named John Rachid president.

He reports to James Bell, chief executive officer, who also served as president since Clive Goldin retired from the role in 2013.

Rachid has more than 24 years of experience in the bedding and furniture industries. Most recently, he was executive group vice president of sales at Serta Simmons Bedding Co. LLC. He spent most of his career as group vice president of national accounts for the Serta brand.

“After a comprehensive executive search process, I am very pleased to name a proven leader and highly qualified individual of John’s caliber to be the Protect-A-Bed president,” Bell said. “John is a well-respected industry executive with a winning track record. He has a solid history of building strategic relationships with retailers and a proven ability to develop high-performance teams. We are confident that his expertise in these key areas will add significant value to our retail partners and Protect-A-Bed.”
