WithIt Breakfast Raises Funds for Education Programs

WithIt, the High Point, North Carolina-based women’s networking group for members of the home furnishings industry, raised money on Oct. 23 for its education programs in 2017—its 20th anniversary year.

WithIt also donated more than $5,100 in support of the Women’s Health Initiative at the City of Hope for cancer and women’s health research. City of Hope is a Los Angeles-based research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.

WithIt held an educational breakfast during the Fall High Point Market and donated a portion of the ticket sales to City of Hope, in addition to collecting individual donations from members.

“The (research) they are doing to eradicate the types of cancers that target women is critically important and being able to offer support for this initiative on behalf of everyone at WithIt was just terrific,” said Lorri Kelley, president of furniture maker BDI and the vice president of education for WithIt.

A Winner’s Choice raffle raised funds for WithIt’s 2017 educational programs. Caroline Hipple, president of Norwalk Furniture, won the raffle, earning the privilege to choose between a trip to Fiji, London and Paris, Scotland or the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
