Mega Group USA Responds to Growth with More Staff, New Headquarters

Buying group Mega Group USA has added staff members and moved to a larger headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. The previous headquarters was in suburban Germantown.

Staff members in new roles are Amanda Evans, director of marketing; Darin Lehr, vice president of sales; John Schmelzer, regional manager serving Arizona and Southern California; and Karen Young, meetings and event director.

Evans previously was with Speak Creative.

Commenting on her appointment at Mega Group, Jim Sendrak, executive vice president of market and consumer electronics, said: “Amanda is a dream come true. I couldn’t imagine a better qualified individual who will not only ensure a smooth transition, but also bring a boatload of fresh imagination and creativity to the position.”

Lehr, who joined the Mega Group company in November, had been with Serta Simmons Bedding Co. LLC as a sale representative, key account manager and sales manager. He leads Mega’s 15 regional managers across the United States.

Schmelzer joined the company in December from Kittrich Corp. Prior to that, he was with the Serta brand in the Arizona market.

Young joined in October. Although she has served the group as an event planner since 2003, she now is officially part of the team, overseeing two annual buying shows, travel and other special events, as well as showrooms at markets in High Point, North Carolina; Tupelo, Mississippi; and Las Vegas.

“We are delighted to make all of the additions to our staff,” said Rick Bellows, president of Mega Group USA. “Our growth has been nonstop, and these new people will help us bring our valued members more and better services than ever before.”

Bellows also noted in a news release that the company’s growth and addition of staff prompted the move to a larger headquarters.
