Mattress licensing group King Koil extended the use of the proprietary Perfect Contour Reaction wrapped-coil unit into several more collections, including Laura Ashley, World Extended Life, World Luxury and World Luxury Intimate.
Mattress licensing group King Koil, based in Willowbrook, Illinois, is using this special zoned spring unit in five of its collections.
The zoned unit is modeled on one developed by King Koil Australia, is built by Leggett & Platt Inc. for King Koil and was first used in the iMattress Reaction bed in 2015.
The Perfect Contour Reaction unit uses alternating rows of “active” and “reactive” pocket springs at the hip and shoulder. Active coils provide traditional conforming support, while reactive coils add more resilience with their lower-gauge wire and narrow diameter. A queen unit has more than 1,000 springs.
According to King Koil, the unit was tested by the International Chiropractors Association and shown to help provide proper nighttime sleeping posture resulting in healthier sleep.
