Learn Where to Get ISPA's Updated Manual of Labeling Laws

The International Sleep Products Association, in partnership with Legal Label Inc., has released an updated and expanded electronic version of the Manual of Labeling Laws, which helps mattress manufacturers navigate the complexities of labeling their products for sale.

ISPA Manual of Labeling Laws

The manual contains comprehensive information on laws in the United States and Canada regulating the labeling of bedding, upholstered furniture, plush toys and other products. Such labels help protect consumers from unknowingly purchasing a secondhand product or product that contains unsafe or unsanitary materials.

It’s critical that manufacturers know how to label their products correctly. Which products require law labels varies from state to state—as do the labeling and registration requirements themselves—and mistakes can result in costly interruptions to sales and business.

The manual contains easy-to-use charts and the update provides more information about each state’s requirements than in the past. In its electronic form, the new edition allows for easy reference and more frequent updating.

The manual can be downloaded electronically from the ISPA website (SleepProducts.org) and is provided as a free benefit to ISPA members. Nonmembers can purchase the manual by going to SleepProducts.org/products/labeling-laws and completing the online order form.
