McRoskey Airflex Mattress Company has appointed three to new posts and has expanded its manufacturing and showroom spaces.
Robert T. Burke, with the company since 1997, has been appointed vice president of administration and finance; Mary Sharkey, with the company since 1999, has been named vice president of manufacturing; and Stephanie Todd, who joined the company in late 2002, has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing.
McRoskey Airflex, a factory direct established in San Francisco in 1899, produces and sells tufted innerspring mattresses and steel coil mounted box springs at its Market Street location in San Francisco, a four–story factory and showroom, built in 1925.
The company opened a new Los Angeles showroom on Robertson Blvd. last month. McRoskey Airflex also has production and warehouse facilities, including a second location in San Francisco, and a showroom in Palo Alto, California.
Jim Frendreis of Gribetz International dies
Jim Frendreis, vice president of Gribetz International’s Eastern U.S. sales, died Dec. 10, 2003. Jim was well–known in the bedding manufacturing industry, having worked closely with customers to solve their machinery needs for many years. He became part of the Gribetz International team in Sunrise, Fla., in 1984 and held various positions, including vice president of research and development and president of Gribetz Threads. He played an active role in the development of Gribetz’ first chainstitch quilting machine and created Gribetz’ popular service department. According to a company statement, “Jim’s sense of humor and friendliness will be greatly missed by his customers and his partners at Gribetz.”
Therapedic Midwest names Paulk rep
Chris Paulk has joined Therapedic Midwest as key account representative. Most recently, Paulk was with Serta, covering the Chicago market. He also has worked as a store manager for Bedding Experts in Chicago and as a regional manager for American Mattress.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Chris’ experience and enthusiasm at Therapedic,” said Gerry Borreggine, vice president of sales and marketing for Therapedic International. “He gives us quality representation in a key market … Chicago.”
Paulk reports to Jerry Reese, sales manager of Therapedic’s Rock Island factory.
