Thinsulate, a brand of 3M Co., has developed a new product specifically for bedding accessories.
The Thinsulate insulation, available in a variety of weights and lofts, was designed as an alternative to down fill. The product is made of a blend of four different fibers to give the insulation a lightweight quality, breathability, moisture–resistance, loft and warmth, the company says. The insulation can be washed in hot water and tumble dried on low heat or professionally dry cleaned. The insulation is available in three weights: 120 grams, 150 grams and 250 grams.
“Thinsulate insulation for bedding is an exciting new segment for us. Consumers know our brand provides lightweight warmth, and designers will have several options to create beautiful bedding accessories,” said Kim Koser, market development manager for Thinsulate, based in St. Paul, Minn.
