Mattress and sleep accessories producer Natura World is purchasing a 478,000–square–foot manufacturing plant in Wichita Falls, Texas, allowing the Cambridge, Ontario–based company to increase distribution and reduce delivery times throughout the United States.
“Opening up another factory will give us much needed room for expansion,” said Ralph Rossdeutscher, Natura World president. “Our penetration into the U.S. market has moved at a rapid pace over the last year.”
Natura World is buying a 100–acre piece of land that houses two manufacturing facilities. Jim Van Lear will serve as plant manager. Van Lear, a 30–year veteran of the mattress industry, has held positions at Simmons, Serta and, most recently, Spring Air.
Natura World has been in a growth mode. It has purchased NexGel, is introducing its first line of innerspring mattresses and has inked a licensing deal with Sharper Image to produce a line of Sharper Image mattresses beginning this year.
“For 15 years, we’ve grown consistently and with a tight focus on our mission statement—to help our customers achieve a superior night’s sleep,” Rossdeutscher said. “With each step we’ve made this past year, we continue toward that goal.”
