Classic Sleep offers Internet–only collection

Foam bed manufacturer and importer Classic Sleep Products, with headquarters in Jessup, Md., has introduced a line of private–label mattresses for Internet retailers. The six–item, drop–ship program includes three visco–elastic and three latex mattresses that are rolled, vacuum–packed and shipped directly to consumers. With no branding on the ticking or other components, the mattresses are designed as a private–label program.

The beds come in 8–inch, 10–inch and 12–inch profiles. They have suggested retail prices between $499 and $1,299 for a queen size.

“One of the biggest challenges retailers are facing is the channel conflict posed by putting the same mattress collection online and in their stores. You have retail sales associates complaining that a consumer can purchase the same product online and avoid the traditional sales experience and bypass the store all together,” said Mike Zippelli, Classic Sleep Products chief executive officer. “Our new program addresses this concern by giving the retailer something different to offer online shoppers. An added benefit is retailers do not have to hold inventory because we ship direct to the consumer.”
