Adjustable bed supplier Ergomotion, with headquarters in Santa Barbara, Calif., says that its sales in 2009 rose 12% over the previous year.
Kelly Clenet, president of the privately held company, said the growth—during a down year for the overall bedding industry—was a result of increased domestic and international demand, strong distribution partnerships, a 24–hour customer service hotline, extensive in–store training programs and the company’s growing reputation in the category.
Ergomotion has developed partnerships with several leading mattress manufacturers in response to expanding retailer interest in adjustable bases, Clenet said.
“We’re helping retailers by adding significant dollars to each sale,” he said. “That phenomenon is opening new doors for us.”
