Comfort Solutions hires 2 for retailer focus

Mattress licensing group Comfort Solutions has hired Glenn Kobylarczyk and Dan Thigpen Jr. as directors of sales technologies and sales education specialists. The jobs, designed to strengthen and expand selling programs and services to retailers, are new to the Willowbrook, Ill.–based company.

Kobylarczyk has more than 13 years of experience as a key account executive in mattress sales. Most recently, he was with manufacturer Magic Sleep. He also has worked for Comfort Solutions and Spring Air licensees.
Thigpen joined Comfort Solutions from Kingsdown, where he served as a regional sales manager. He is based in Ontario, Calif.

In the new roles, Thigpen works mainly with retail sales associates, concentrating on the exclusive technologies and selling programs of the company’s Sleep ID line. Kobylarczyk’s focus is on working with Comfort Solutions’ field sales force and on the company’s broader group of brands and selling programs. The two also work on U.S. sales education efforts for the Laura Ashley line. Both report to Owen Shoemaker, Comfort Solutions vice president of product and marketing development.

“Dan and Glenn have strong credentials in sales and sales instruction, especially as it relates to new technologies,” Shoemaker said. “Overall, we plan to enhance the selling programs and services we provide for the entire Comfort Solutions’ portfolio of brands and we’re very enthused about bringing on an experienced, professional team dedicated solely to making that happen.”
