Flexible Foam promotes O’Brien

Industry supplier Flexible Foam has promoted Maury O’Brien to director of research and development, a new post. O’Brien joined the Spencerville, Ohio–based company in 2008 and previously was a regional manager.

In his new role, O’Brien is responsible for managing new product development, including providing technical support services to the company’s supply chain and its sales and marketing group. He also is tasked with providing creativity, technical analysis and economic feasibility necessary to develop and advance the product line. He reports to Rich Whitling, Flexible Foam chief operating officer.

O’Brien is a mattress industry veteran. Prior to joining Flexible Foam, he worked for Spring Air, Sealy and Serta and has served on the International Sleep Products Association’s Sleep Products Safety Council.

“Maury has been instrumental to our bedding division and we are thrilled to promote him to this essential position,” said Michael Crowell, Flexible Foam vice president of marketing. “Flexible Foam is driven by the success of our partners. To achieve that objective, we continue to invest in innovation, services and efficiencies.”
