Sealy fundraiser aids Salvation Army

For the third year in a row, Trinity, N.C.-based mattress maker Sealy and its luxury Stearns & Foster brand held a Gift of Sleep fundraiser to benefit the Salvation Army and its residential shelters.

For every Stearns & Foster sold through participating retailers Nov. 20-Jan. 11, Sealy donated $100 in new mattresses to Salvation Army shelters. In total, Sealy donated $1 million in new mattresses to the charity. The program calls attention to nearly 3.5 million Americans experiencing homelessness, while emphasizing the Salvation Army’s continued need for mattress donations, Sealy said.

“The Stearns & Foster brand has a wonderful history of giving back and we are proud to continue the brand’s philanthropic legacy with our commitment to the Salvation Army through the Gift of Sleep program,” said Jodi Allen, Sealy chief marketing officer. “We would also like to extend thanks to the participating retailers who, year after year, continue to ensure the success of this program that calls attention to the many Americans who rely on the Salvation Army’s residential facilities for a safe and comfortable place to sleep.”

The most recent mattress donation brings the value of all Sealy mattress donations to the Salvation Army to $3 million.
