Foam-cutting machinery maker Albrecht Bäumer GmbH & Co., which is based in Freudenberg, Germany, now offers a more basic, modular looper model that can be equipped with additional options as needed.
The benefit to customers is both cost savings and the flexibility to customize options required for particular cutting applications, the company said. The basic model also installs in less time and has reduced installation costs associated with it.
The Bäumer looper uses the latest servo system technology for belt-drive motors, which allows rolls to be exchanged without stopping the machine completely, preventing unwanted marks in the foam or inaccurate cutting results. After the new roll has been wound, the machine continues to cut with the selected production speed.
Another new feature is automated, programmable adjustment of cutting thicknesses, which allows for increased accuracy and reduced waste. Additional servo motors drive the fully automatic system. A graphic control panel allows the operator to save cutting programs and machine settings for future use.
The company also offers the ROK 200 roll compression machine, which allows customers to compress rolls of foam for space-saving storage and money-saving product transport. The ROK 200 can compress rolls with a diameter of up to 2,000 mm and a length of 2,200 mm, depending on foam type. The compression process takes about two minutes. Individually parameterized compressing and packing programs can be stored digitally. The machines will be shown at ISPA EXPO 2012 March 14-17 in Indianapolis.
