Mattress licensing group Therapedic International, with headquarters in Princeton, N.J., has signed a new licensee, mattress maker Sleep International LLC in Tampa, Fla. Sleep International is the latest endeavor of mattress manufacturing veterans Steve Antinori and Adam Weinman.
Antinori was chairman and chief executive officer of Spring Air licensee Consolidated Bedding, which led the corporate roll-up of the former Spring Air Co. by acquiring six other Spring Air licensees and merging with private equity firm Spring Air Co. H.I.G. in 2007.
Most recently, Weinman was a sales executive at Comfort Solutions licensee Dixie Bedding Co. in Miami. He and Antinori worked together for more than a decade when Weinman was president of Orthomatic, an adjustable bedding company owned by the Antinori family and sold to Leggett & Platt.
“We considered several business opportunities before deciding to become a Therapedic licensee,” Weinman said. “We realized it was the best fit for our brand. Therapedic has a strong name that has recognition with consumers that we can build on.”
“We couldn’t have chosen better partners,” said Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic president and CEO. “I’ve known and admired Steve and Adam for a long time and am thrilled to welcome Sleep International into the Therapedic family. Florida is emerging as an important market in the mattress industry. With Steve’s understanding of the licensing and retail business, we know Florida will become a bigger market for us.”
Therapedic International is a mattress licensing group with more than 50 licensees around the world.
