Mattress components supplier Hickory Springs Mfg. Co. in Hickory, N.C., has appointed Eddie Alala national accounts director for its consumer products division, a newly created position.

In his new role, Alala is tasked with maintaining and growing the division’s key accounts, as well as creating new business opportunities throughout the United States. Hickory Springs’ consumer retail products division distributes futons, steel bed frames, adjustable bases and top-of-bed products.
Alala joined the company in 1990 and has held various business development positions in the retail bedding and furniture markets.
“Eddie’s existing business relationships within the retail furniture and bedding markets will serve the company well as he works to strengthen key accounts and develop new relationships in the retail industry,” said Dwayne Welch, Hickory Springs executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer. “We look forward to Eddie bringing his 20-plus years of experience to the consumer products division and opening up valuable new retail markets and revenue streams for Hickory Springs.”
