Leggett & Platt releases hip-hop ‘hybrid’ video

Bedding components supplier Leggett & Platt in Carthage, Mo., teamed up with Second City Communications, corporate services division of the famed Second City comedy theater in Chicago, to create this funny, catchy music video, “Get Hybrid.”

The video combines humor, rap music and bedding terminology to call attention to what L&P describes as the “ultimate hybrid”—a mattress made with its Comfort Core encased coils as well as specialty foams, gel or latex.

The video can also be viewed at www.ultimate-hybrid.com.

Mark Quinn, segment vice president of marketing at L&P, said, “when it comes to comedy, nobody does it like Second City. In addition to being professional improv comedians, its team knows how to intersect a business objective with a creative solution.”

L&P plans to release a Web series this summer that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video. Retail sales associates and other mattress industry members are invited to visit the campaign microsite to register for updates regarding the project.
