Missouri eliminates bedding company registration rule

Mattress manufacturers and renovators operating in Missouri no longer will need to register with the state and obtain a permit, according to the International Sleep Products Association. But they still will need to label their products as to whether they contain new or secondhand materials.

In addition, used and renovated bedding still will need to be sanitized.

The Missouri legislature dropped the registration requirement as part of a broader effort to remove numerous “unfunded mandates” from existing law.
