Sealy receives Effie for 'Whatever You Do in Bed' ad campaign

Mattress maker Sealy received a 2012 Effie Award for its advertising campaign, “Whatever You Do in Bed, Sealy Supports It.” The company, with headquarters in Trinity, N.C., earned the top spot in the Household Furnishings and Appliances category.

“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious distinction,” said Jodi Allen, Sealy chief marketing officer. “Our 2012 efforts will bring the award-winning campaign to a new level with national consumer advertising continuing to embrace the role of mattresses in everyday life.”

The award is a first for Sealy. The Effies have global recognition among advertisers and agencies. They annually honor the most significant achievement among all forms of marketing communication that contribute to a brand’s success.

The announcement at the Effie Worldwide website says the mattress maker changed “the conversation with consumers, Sealy introduced a campaign that supports all the things people do in bed beyond sleep. TV, digital and mobile touchpoints motivated people to actively seek out the brand, ultimately boosting web traffic, inspiring social conversations and reigniting sales.”
