Customatic Bedz adds second plant in Taiwan

Adjustable base importer Customatic Bedz announced that its manufacturing partner Ruoey Lung Enterprise Corp. in Changhua Hsien, Taiwan, has opened a second manufacturing facility at the same industrial park in Changhua Hsien where the first plant is located. The new plant adds 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space, bringing the manufacturer’s total manufacturing space to 150,000 square feet.

Customatic Bedz, founded in 2010 by majority owners Phil McCarty and Phil Sherman and based in Natick, Mass., supplies adjustable bases by the container-load to manufacturers and retailers in North America, and partners with two U.S.-based distributors of its products.

“The demand for adjustable beds is still in its infancy,” McCarty said. “We believe our current expansion strategy will assure healthy growth while maintaining the high-quality standards and controls to meet and exceed expectations.”

The new three-story facility, which began operating in late October, houses new corporate offices, a state-of-the-art cut-and-sew department, robotic welding machinery, a powder-coating operation and dedicated assembly lines.
