Market preview: Seahawk expands Casual Elegance collection

Riverside, Calif.-based Seahawk Designs Inc., the maker of Sto-A-Way bed bases, is adding an adjustable option to its Cambridge base and introducing the Bradford sleigh bed. The beds are part of the company’s Casual Elegance collection and will be on display at the Las Vegas Market Jan. 28-Feb. 1 at the World Market Center. Each base has oversized “Stuff It” drawers on both sides that can be “overfilled” without jamming, according to the company.

The Bradford has a weathered wood headboard and footboard and is available as a platform base or equipped with a Leggett & Platt adjustable base. The Cambridge has a tufted, upholstered headboard.

“Adjustable bed bases are more popular than ever, and retailer requests for beds with storage capabilities are on the rise,” said William Jahn, Seahawk chief executive officer. “We’ve also noticed that stylish upholstered beds are selling well because they have the ability to easily integrate into any bedroom’s décor. Innovation and practicality sell, and we believe that these versatile additions to our Casual Elegance collection provide retailers and consumers with the perfect blend of comfort and style, while fulfilling a need for extra storage space. Providing customers with the option to purchase a power bed base with a premium platform bed reinforces that our company is becoming a stronger presence in the industry.”
