With the U.S. economy still growing at a snail’s pace, it’s always nice to report on companies that are speeding along.

In the January issue of BedTimes, we profile Sleeptronic, a family-owned company in Dallas that moved into a new 200,000-square-foot facility last spring as part of an overall expansion plan.

The new space is four times the size of Sleeptronic’s old facility and includes a research-and-development facility, training center and the company’s first large showroom. The energy-efficient plant can churn out as many as 3,500 pieces a day, in part because of a customized computer system.

The move is allowing the company, founded in 1990 by the Sunderji family, to go after new customers, including large retail chains and the hospitality market, as well as private-label arrangements.

Sleeptronic expects to double its business in the next five years. Texas-sized growth, indeed.
