Bedgear realigns operations to manage growth

bedgear logoMattress protection and sleep accessories supplier Bedgear, with headquarters in Farmingdale, N.Y., has consolidated four facilities into two and hired two operations executives as part of a restructuring of its production and distribution processes.

The company has opened a manufacturing and warehousing operation in Rock Hill, S.C., and a warehousing and distribution hub in Los Angeles. According to a news release, Bedgear has made major investments in new machinery specifically designed for the manufacture of its unique product line. The equipment will help Bedgear better serve its retail partners and meet growing demand for its products.

As part of the restructuring, Rick McCain was named director of manufacturing and Tony Mirabella was chosen as director of operations.

McCain is manufacturing veteran with 30 years of experience in production management, product development and quality control. He also holds numerous patents for textile design. Prior to joining Bedgear, he was senior product manager for Perfect Fit Industries.

Mirabella has more than 15 years of experience in demand planning and managing supply chains. He is a certified Six Sigma black belt.
