Furniture producer Emerald Home Furnishings, with headquarters in Tacoma, Wash., has hired Joe Carman V as marketing manager for its Emerald Sleep Systems division. The division introduced the Cool Jewel collection of gel and memory foam mattresses, pillows and topper at the winter Las Vegas Market Jan. 28-Feb. 1.
Carman is responsible for managing the division’s brand and product development, as well as sales training, strategic marketing plans and the creation of sales presentations for key furniture and mattress accounts.
“Joe hit the ground running and helped Emerald launch our new Cool Jewel line to great response from retailers at the recent Las Vegas Market,” said Al Matthews, Emerald Home Furnishings vice president of sales. “We are investing in the future of the Emerald Sleep Systems division. Joe will be a significant contributor as we expand the brand, product offerings and presence on retail sales floors.”
Carman, who grew up in the industry working for his family business, the former mattress producer Carman Mfg., has more than 15 years of experience in sleep products sales and marketing. Most recently, he was president of Recovery Systems International and director of operations for T3 Recovery Products. Prior to that, Carman was regional account manager responsible for a 14-state territory at the former Spring Air Co.
Of his new post, Carman said, “Emerald Sleep Systems offers me an exciting opportunity to continue to grow the bedding offerings from Emerald Home Furnishings, a well-respected, full-line home furnishings company. We are on a very positive path with the Cool Jewel gel memory foam line.”
