Survey results released in January by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveal that 4.2% of people admit they have fallen asleep behind the wheel at least once during the previous 30 days.
Adults who usually sleep less than six hours per day, snore or unintentionally fall asleep during the day admitted to falling asleep while driving more than those who didn’t report these traits.
The study included adults in 19 states and the District of Columbia.
