AEC Narrow Fabrics achieves ISO 9001:2008 certification

AEC Narrow Fabrics logoMattress tape supplier AEC Narrow Fabrics, which is headquartered in Asheboro, N.C., has earned ISO 9001:2008 certification for its two North Carolina manufacturing facilities. ISO 9001:2008 is a quality management standard administered by the International Organization for Standardization. AEC said it spent more than a year evaluating and improving its quality management systems prior to receiving certification.

“This rigorous process delved into every aspect of our business, providing us with information that enabled us to advance our quality management systems,” said Robert Lawson, AEC Narrow Fabrics president. “Throughout the process, we identified and implemented operational efficiencies that are already benefiting our customers.”

AEC plans to undertake the certification process at its plants in El Salvador and Honduras later this year. El Salvador plant manager Leonel Preza has extensive experience with the standard and already has implemented quality initiatives there, the company said.
