Paul Messerschmitt and Rachel Quintero have joined Carolina Mattress Guild as territory sales representatives.

Both positions are new for the Thomasville, N.C.-based mattress maker, which has experienced “exponential growth in 2012 and the first quarter of 2013,” according to a news release. The new hires are part of a planned widening of the company’s distribution area in response to retailer demand.

Messerschmitt is responsible for sales to existing customers in the Midwest and new account development in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He is a bedding industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience in sales, manufacturing and executive management posts. Previous employers include Serta, Simmons, Spring Air, Stearns & Foster and Tempur-Pedic.

Both Quintero and Messerschmitt report to Tom Rehwinkel, sales manager.
