Culp Inc. announces quality-assurance investment

Textile supplier Culp Inc., with headquarters in High Point, N.C., has announced plans to triple the capacity of its existing quality-testing lab for mattress ticking. The facility is adjacent to Culp’s mattress fabric headquarters in Stokesdale, N.C.

According to a news release, the goal is to “further enhance Culp’s ability to provide on-site quality testing of a wide range of mattress fabrics in all product categories, including finished covers.”

“This investment in a new quality lab reflects our commitment to providing customers with the highest quality mattress fabrics,” said Iv Culp, president of Culp Home Fashions. The additional equipment and capacity will support our growing business and enhance our current quality testing capabilities. As the mattress industry continues to evolve into a more decorative business with more sophisticated fabric construction, we are well positioned to meet this demand with an extensive manufacturing platform and flexible capacity to produce an innovative and diverse line of products. Under the leadership of Rachel Marquardt, quality assurance manager for Culp Home Fashions, and her associates working in quality control, this latest initiative will support the consistent quality and value that are synonymous with the Culp brand.”
